Qumat®-Q401-HR
Protective gloves and other personal protective equipment are subjected to permanent quality control. The quality of this equipment and its classification into different protection classes is defined by standards. The concentration of the chemical and the elapsed time are recorded regularly. As soon as the concentration exceeds a predefined value as a function of time, this is called a breakthrough. From this point on, the PPE no longer protects the user from the chemical. The breakthrough is defined with a permeation rate > 1 µg min-1 cm-2 according the standard.

Over the past 30 years, LABC-Labortechnik has developed various products for measuring permeation in laboratories. Our range includes products for measurements in the collecting fluid water as well as in the collecting inert gas. As detectors, we offer FDP, FID, PID electrodes, as well as pH electrodes, conductivity electrodes and redox electrodes.
Inert gas testers
Our Qumat and our Permobil working stations are testing with inert gas. This means that the collection medium is a gas. There you have to option to use air or nitrogen. The inert gas testers are measuring in a open loop system.
Fluit water
The NW50liquid working station and the NW50 liqui cells are operation with fluit water. The collection medium is a deionized water. The fluit water testing systems are measuring in a closed loop system.
Qumat®-Q401-H
The Qumat®-Q401-HR analyser is used to measure the permeation rate of chemical protective gloves and clothing. The analyser measures the breakthrough of test chemicals in three permeation measuring cells according to DIN EN 374, DIN EN 6529 and EN 16523. The glove tester Qumat®-Q401-HR is available in two versions and differs only in its detector. The Qumat®-Q401-HR can be supplied with FID or with FID and FPD. The overview of the detectable chemicals provides information on which detoctor is suitable for your application.
Qumat 401 HR section Test samples are clamped into the permeation measuring cells, filled on one side with the liquid test substance to be examined and continuously flown through from the other side with a gaseous collection medium. These three defined gas flows are now analysed one after the other for the volatile detectable test substance. The results are documented in tabular form. In addition, the temperature and the air flow are recorded for each measurement.
If a test substance passes through the test specimen with a permeation rate > 1 µg min-1 cm-2, a breakthrough is present according to DIN EN 374-3 and EN 16523-1.

Permeatin cell NW50
Designed for liquid or gaseous test chemicals and gaseous collection media. Permeation cell NW50 in accordance to EN 16523-1 (replaces EN374-3) for testing PPE films such as safety gloves or safety clothing in order to measure the permeability of the test substances to the samples.
Device made of glass and standing without support on three feet and a PTFE holder for films < 0.5 mm.
